Sigiriya Lion Rock
Visiting Sigiriya Lion rock is a must if you are in this area. It is a Unesco site filled with interesting history. The hike up and took us around 2 hours (with kids 7 and 9 years old that are used to walk in the mountains).
We hired a guide for Rp 2000 which was definetly worth it. There are several guides to choose from when you get to the parking lot. Our guide, Ranjith, did a great job and he can be booked at (071) 365 6822.
Lodging
We stayed at Aliya resort and it was a great place while in the Sigiriya/Habanare area. The pool with a view of the rock is really nice and the family rooms are spacious over two floors. Great buffet.
It is about a 20 minute drive to the rock.
