Surfs up in Weligama

Weligama has perfect long waves to go surfing. Situated on the southcoast this is a good place to visit when the monsoon has left this part of the country.

Lodging
We stayed in a bungalow on the beach at Weligama Bay resort. The kids loved jumping around in the pool when they were not surfing. Great breakfast and nice dinner.

The boutique hotel Ceylon sliders is worth checking into for those interested in a yoga and surf place. No children under 12 years. They have a really nice shop and great lunch as well. Drop-in yoga on their rooftop with amazing view of Taprobane island.

We escape  is another nice small boutique hotel. This hotels fits both the independent as well as couple and families. Great massage at their spa and yoga classes in the morning and afternoon.

Eating
Lounge feeling and good food at W15, which is also a hotel. A must-try is their own "Wow" drink.

Surf
We have surfed with the guys at Drish Point Surf directly located in front of W15, but we have also been recommeded Amma. The beach is full of options.
